Our Mission
The Center aims to engage the community at all levels to create self-sustaining opportunities in alternative spaces. The programming of exhibitions has an emphasis on activation, collaboration, education, and site-specificity — with an endeavor to foster relationships with local artists.
Our Artist-in-Residence program is the cornerstone of this mission — providing working artists with the time, space, resources, and community connections to develop meaningful new work and share it with South Florida audiences.

A $7,000 residency stipend to support the artist's time and practice throughout the duration of the program.
Opportunity to present an exhibition at The Center during the residency or in the future, with full curatorial support.
Scheduled engagements with arts professionals — curators, collectors, critics, and peers — to expand your network and practice.
A NARM (North American Reciprocal Museums) membership providing free or reduced admission to hundreds of museums across the continent.
Commitments
Residents are expected to be active, engaged members of The Center community — sharing their practice openly and contributing to the cultural life of Hollywood, Florida.
Behind the Scenes
Every third Saturday during the Hollywood Art Walk (4–6 PM), residents open their studios to the public — building direct relationships with collectors, community members, and fellow artists.
Scheduled visits with curators, gallerists, and arts professionals provide residents with critical feedback and career-building connections throughout the residency.
Residents lead at least one educational workshop — for Free Arts Day or a similar community event — sharing their practice with students and community members of all ages.
