About The Center
The Hollywood Art and Culture Center has been a leading multidisciplinary cultural organization since 1975 — cultivating creativity through contemporary gallery exhibitions, arts education for all ages, performing arts and award-winning film programs.

Our Mission
The Art and Culture Center/Hollywood cultivates creativity and the support of the arts in our community through education, innovation, and collaboration.
Founded in 1975 as the only visual arts nonprofit in south Broward County, we now manage visual arts galleries in the renovated Kagey Home built in 1924, an Arts School adjacent to the main facility, and the 500-seat Hollywood Central Performing Arts Center.
Championing bold, original work from South Florida, regional and national artists.
Standards-based arts programs serving pre-K through high school as well as adults.
Partnering with local and regional arts organizations to advance cultural offerings.
Award-winning Open Dialogues film series, providing experiences in all art mediums.
Our Home
The Center is located in what was originally the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Kagey, a founding family in Hollywood. Built in 1924, it is a beautiful example of Mediterranean Revival architecture — one of Hollywood's first show-place homes, completed a year before the City of Hollywood was incorporated.
In January 1990, the property was purchased by the City of Hollywood. Renovated with private and historical grant monies, it opened as the new location for the Hollywood Art and Culture Center on February 2, 1992, a move from the orginal location at 1301 S Ocean Boulevard. In 2008, the Broward Trust for Historic Preservation honored the Center for its stewardship of the Kagey Home.
