About The Center

Our Mission

The Center is a contemporary gallery and cultural institution dedicated to connecting people through the transformative power of the arts. For over 50 years, we have been promoting excellence in visual and performing arts through contemporary exhibitions, theatrical performances, film, and educational programs.

We serve over 55,000 community members annually, with 95% of participants able to access programs at $5 or less, ensuring arts remain accessible to all.

2026 Summer Exhibitions

Opening Reception: Saturday, June 6, 2026 | 5–8 PM

Three extraordinary exhibitions showcase the work of South Florida's most dynamic contemporary artists:

  • Sunshine & Ink: The Florida Printmakers — Six contemporary printmakers showcase bold, vibrant work from monumental woodblock prints and silkscreens to intimate etchings and handmade artist books
  • Jen Little: Wax. Pigment. Fire. — An exploration in encaustic art featuring mesmerizing paintings created by fusing beeswax, resin, and pigment with an open flame
  • Veterans' Voices: A 250th Anniversary Portfolio — In partnership with the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center, local Veterans created a powerful tribute to America through printmaking

Past Exhibitions

  • River of Grass by Fiber Artists Miami Association — A site-specific fiber art installation addressing the Florida Everglades' ecological and cultural narrative
  • A Drowned Horizon by Aurora Molina — A large-scale textile installation evoking Florida's eroded ecosystem
  • The Hollywood Walk Project by Peggy Levison Nolan & Pip Brant — Five years of sunset walks through East Hollywood captured on cell phones

Theater & Performances

Professional Theater Venue

Our 500-seat professional theater hosts theatrical productions, musicals, dance performances, and live entertainment. We feature works by established playwrights and emerging artists, creating a vibrant cultural hub in downtown Hollywood.

Recent and upcoming productions include original works, classic plays, and contemporary musicals that engage and inspire our community.

Cinema & Film

Film Screenings

Our cinema program features independent, international, and classic films, offering cinematic experiences that educate and entertain. We host regular screenings, special events, and film discussions.

Arts Education & Learning

Community Arts Programs

We offer over 500 classes, workshops, and events annually, serving diverse age groups and skill levels. Our programs include visual arts, performing arts, music, dance, and theater.

  • Youth Programs: Classes and workshops for children ages 5-18
  • Adult Classes: Continuing education and professional development for adults
  • Workshops: Intensive skill-building sessions in various artistic disciplines
  • School Programs: Field trips and group visits for K-12 students

Summer Arts Camp

Multi-week immersive programs for youth ages 7-18, featuring:

Artist in Residence
